The Social Publishers Foundation is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization headquartered in San Marcos, CA (USA). The Board of Directors of the Foundation sets policy and delegates authority to the president and senior staff for the Foundation’s operations. The Foundation’s policies have been established to further its Mission.
The Social Publishers Foundation utilizes an Advisory Board of distinguished practitioners, researchers, and community leaders to advise the Board of Directors on various issues including strategic, conceptual, and practical aspects of the stated Mission. Members of the Advisory Board personally contribute and assist with raising funds for grants that the Foundation awards to practitioner-researchers and action-researchers.
A Review Panel of experienced practitioner-researchers, action-researchers, and veterans of community-based participatory research projects participates in a review process in which all submitted proposals for publication are carefully reviewed. Members of the Review Panel are volunteers and are committed to the maintenance of high standards for publication. When publication applications are submitted to SPF, reviewers from the SPF review panel provide support to help enhance research and product reports and essays as necessary, and communicate with prospective authors through the process toward publication.
In an effort to increase dissemination of research, products, and essays by practitioners and other contributors, SPF develops partnerships and collaborations with a number of organizations and institutions in various parts of the world. For example, SPF has an active partnership with Institute for Research and Development in Health and Social Care in Sri Lanka.
