I am currently the Academic Program Director of a new Master's degree for Social and Emotional Learning. Action Research is embedded into every course and the AR process is adhered to throughout the program. All candidates work towards formulating an Action Research Project and questions, submit for IRB approval, conduct the research, and report and present findings as an exit requirement for the degree program. I am an Action Research advisor involved in continuous improvement all courses to clarify and personalize the curriculum with each candidate. AR is the most authentic research blending qualitative and quantitative methods (descriptive statistics that reflect change in practice or student learning). This research role is invigorating to all who are involved.
