So Jung Kim-Ellis is a former educator and school counselor who has embraced her passion for the arts after more than a decade in education. She earned her counseling degree from the University of San Diego, where she also served as a research assistant to Dr. Lonnie Rowell for two years. During her time at USD, Kim conducted her own action research to evaluate the effectiveness of group counseling for international students. This research was published in 2015. So Jung now focuses on filmmaking with the primary interest on rekindling the joy of discovery of self-expression in young and old.
Nathan Ellis is a former Army Captain and decorated military aviator who uses his unique life experiences to create impactful films. After earning an Army ROTC scholarship and becoming the top cadet in flight training, he served seven years on Active Duty, including a combat deployment in Afghanistan, where he received an Air Medal with Valor and a Bronze Star. Following his military career, Nathan pursued filmmaking and earned an MFA from the USC School of Cinematic Arts. His work has won multiple awards, including Best Military Filmmaker at the GI Film Festival, and he has two screenplays currently in development. While directing is his main focus, Nathan enjoys all aspects of the creative process.
