I work as a Teacher in the Pushpadana College, Katugastota, Sri Lanka. I have five years’ experience as a Science teacher in Sri Lankan schools. I have successfully completed Bachelor’s and Post Graduate Diploma in Education. My first work place is a Type 2 school in Hatton education zone in the Nuwala-eliya district. For my Diploma in Education course, I did my first action research. I like to conduct research that will help to enhance my knowledge as well as my practice as a teacher. In the field of research, I like to conduct action research as it can be applied in my professional teaching work. In the school teaching-learning process, we find various types of students. Some are talented, but some lack even the basic skills of writing or speaking appropriately. Therefore, we can increase their abilities using action research. I would like to develop a culture of research-based teaching and learning in my school.
මම ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ, කටුගස්තොට, පුෂ්පදාන විද්‍යාලයයේ ගුරුවරියක ලෙස සේවය කරමි. ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ පාසල්වල විද්‍යා ගුරුවරියක ලෙස වසර පහක පළපුරුද්දක් මට ඇත. මම පළමු උපාධිය සහ පශ්චාත් උපාධි ඩිප්ලෝමාව සාර්ථක ව සම්පූර්ණ කර ඇත්තෙමි. මගේ පළමු සේවා ස්ථානය නුවරඑළිය දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ හැටන් අධ්‍යාපන කලාපයේ 2 වර්ගයේ පාසලකි. මගේ පශ්චාත් අධ්‍යාපන ඩිප්ලෝමා පාඨමාලාව සඳහා, මම පළමු ක්‍රියාමූලික පර්යේෂණය කළෙමි. ගුරුවරියක ලෙස, මගේ දැනුම මෙන් ම මගේ ව්‍යවහාරය වැඩිදියුණු කිරීමට උපකාරී වන පර්යේෂණ කිරීමට මම කැමැත්තෙමි. පර්යේෂණ ක්ෂේත්‍රයේ පර්යේෂණ අතරින් ක්‍රියාමූලික පර්යේෂණ කිරීමට මම කැමැති වන්නේ, මගේ වෘත්තීය ඉගැන්වීමේ කාර්යයේ දී එකී පර්යේෂණ ක්‍රමය භාවිත කළ හැකි බැවිනි. පාසල් ඉගෙනුම් – ඉගැන්වීම් ක්‍රියාවලියේ දී අපට විවිධ වර්ගයේ සිසුහු හමු වෙති. සමහර සිසුන් දක්ෂ නමුත් සමහර සිසුන්ට නිසි ලෙස ලිවීමේ හෝ කතා කිරීමේ මූලික කුසලතා පවා නැත. ක්‍රියාමූලික පර්යේෂණ භාවිතයෙන් අපට ඔවුන්ගේ හැකියා වැඩි කළ හැකි ය. මගේ පාසලේ පර්යේෂණ මත පදනම් වූ ඉගෙනුම් – ඉගැන්වීම් සංස්කෘතියක් සංවර්ධනය කිරීමට මම කැමැත්තෙමි.
