I have been working in the field of mental health, with children and families for the past 22 years. I have worked in the area of family preservation, which was a program to prevent out of home placement. I then provided individual and family therapy on an outpatient basis within our agency and became an outside provider for youth and their families. I am currently working in a residential group home setting for children with an SED diagnosis. Throughout my education and my practical experience, the emphasis has been on the family system and the importance of treating the family to derive long term changes.
