I have had the privilege to witness the power of education on student lives as I have worked in the educational field for the past six years. In this time, I have noticed that my teaching philosophy has transformed immensely inside the classroom. It is crucial in making sure all students are able to access genuine and authentic education that expands students’ ability to live, and work in dynamic social groups and environments through meaningful problem solving strategies. This ideology only strengthened as I have been a student for the University of Colorado – Denver in their Curriculum & Instruction: Critical Pedagogy MA program. I have been fortunate to be able to apply best strategies and methods to support my students inside my own classroom as a Special Education Teacher for Douglas County School District these past two years. If I have learned anything from this experience, it is this: As educators, we must be devoted to exploring new and effective ways to support our future generations to be successful.
