I’ve been in education for 7 years and worked in both the UK and the Middle East, as an ESL instructor and Academic Coordinator. I have recently completed an MA in Educational Leadership & Management (University of Nottingham, UK). During my studies, I was intrigued by the research surrounding intersectionality, as it relates to my own experiences as an ethnic minority female. I’ve felt compelled to investigate and report the experiences of Muslim women in leadership, due to my experience of working in the Middle East, as well as my own experiences of working in the UK as a Muslim. My research interests include: Educational leadership & cultural contexts; Gender, race, ethnicity and faith as intersections in leadership; The role of women in Islam; Faith and identity; cultural/ belief systems in educational leadership.
