I have a multiple subject credential, plus a Library Media Teacher credential, and currently teach 4th grade at STEAM Academy in Spring Valley, California. As the president of the California School Library Association (2013-14) I was involved with the building of the highly engaging and interactive Library 2.0 and Student 2.0 self-paced tutorials and the mentoring that went along with it. I served on the Governing Board of Directors of the San Diego Family Health Centers from 1998 – 2016. Student and family health is an important aspect of how well students can do academically and socially.
